There are two types of small business entities in Canada. The first is as a Sole Proprietor, and the other is to become Incorporated. You can often start as a Sole Proprietor and move the business into a Corporation at a later date. We always recommend using the services of a corporate lawyer when setting up a new corporation; this is especially important if you are considering adding a partner to the corporation.
